How to design baby/child room??

Would you like to create a beautiful room from the magazine? Me too, just space  is bit smaller, budget not amazingly high and is it really so practical what we see in the photos? As 1st time mommy made many mistakes, now I can advise which elements in the room make sense, which make your space messy and which look good just till the moment your child know why he has legs and hands...So let's make some points here:

  • "wiegje"- yes up to 3 months because you can place it next to your bed, handy if you breastfeeding. I would not invest here too much money. Personally I got one from friends. It was basket with stand from Zara Home. Perfect and light so we can take basket to your parents and place baby comfy there in order to sleep.
  • Ledikant- you can place in the room directly. I have not use any side protections up my baby was 6 months. Size mostly 60x120 cm.
  • Bin for diapers- if you do not run every day to throw them away (the best in the bin outside of the house:)) I would buy a good one which will keep this "lovely smell" inside. Place it close to the commode/changing table.
  • Commode- I would recommend one with the wide top and deep drawers. All diapers, creams, medicines, cosmetics and towels you can put there. They are out of the visibility which makes room more tidy and better organized and still you have everything under your hand. Meaning you will never leave your child on the changing table without associations. In the magazines you can see cute baskets and toys on the top of the commode. It makes sense only till the moment your child is not really movable...as soon as they can move, turn, get up good luck with trying to keep little one on the changing table and make sure that those pretty decorations are not going to land on the floor...
  • Closet- always needed especially as myself you are trying to buy everything what you see in the baby stores. I would add bars for hangers- it is easier for jackets, shirts or dresses. Please note not to install them to low as in few months all those clothes will be much bigger.
  • Toys- so important for the child and may create such a big colorful mess. For small money you can buy those paper, washable bags with pretty amazing capacity. Honestly I am not fun of the transparent, plastic boxes- practical but making room looking like a storage.

Black&white baby cards

Do you know think that your few weeks baby cannot do anything else as sleeping and drinking? You are almost right? :) However once your little one is awake, try to support his sight development. How?

It is an easy and cheap way. Additional a tip for parents who are not a fun of colorful mobiles, crazy colors in their living room.

Black&white cards, believe me it will interest your child better than a mobile. There are 2 options:

  • you can buy them and spend for a book 10-15 EUR, the same goes for cards, moreover it is not so easy to find a good one;
  • do it by yourself
  • or  of course if you don't have time or ability I can do it for you for a small price and big heart :)

DIY

  • you can choose different topics: I would recommend animals or food
  • draw/paint them
  • 1 picture per page
  • size of your hand
  • you can use foliation
  • once ready, put your baby on the belly, put cards in the front of him/her and let them observe it

It does sound really attractive and fancy however will help your baby.

Below you can find ready cards, which you cannot find in The Netherlands. They come from Fabryka Wafelkow, www.fabrykawafelkow.pl I can also order them for you. The company is amazing!
